Madame de RÉMUSAT, granddaughter of the Marquis de LA FAYETTE. Pauline de LASTEYRIE DU SAILLANT (1807-1882) was the daughter of Marquis Louis de Lasteyrie du Saillant and Marie Antoinette Virginie Motier de La Fayette. She was the granddaughter of Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de La Fayette (1757-1834). On August 18, 1828, she married Comte Charles-François-Marie de Rémusat, philosopher and politician, son of Napoleon I's former Chamberlain and a former lady of Empress Josephine's palace.
