La Maréchale de SOULT, Duchesse de Dalmatie. Jeanne-Louise-Élisabeth Berg (1771-1852), daughter of Abraham Berg Burgomaster of Solingen and Wilhelmine Mumm. She was lady-in-waiting to Letizia Bonaparte. On April 26, 1796, she married Jean-de-Dieu Soult, 1st Duke of Dalmatia, descended through his father Jean Soult from a line of royal notaries, and through his mother from the Grenier family; he became Marshal of the Empire in 1804, then Minister of War - A.S. letter written on February 12 to a Duchess.
