Olympic Games/ Summer, 1900/ Paris / EPS/ Frédéric Vernon (1858-1912) Silver-plated bronze plaque "Exercices Physiques et Sports" (lower cartouche) on reverse: the winning athlete at the foot of the stadium dominated by the Acropolis). Obverse: "République Française (la victoire ailée), Exposition Universelle, Paris 1900". By F.Vernon (Frédéric Vernon, 1858-1912). The winged victory sprays Paris with laurels: the Pont Alexandre III spans the Seine, the Palais Bourbon swaggers to the left, and the glass roof of the Grand Palais does not escape its sprig of greenery. 6 x 4.2 cm
