Olympic Games/ Summer, 1896-1906/ Athens. Two medals: a) modern large-format copy of Chaplain's round medal of the winners for 1896...Perhaps in 1996, a nasty compensation for the centennial gone to Atlanta; obverse: Zeux, reverse: the Acropolis, Diam.: 8cm, superb; b) Commemorative medal for the 1906 intermediate games (taken from the N.Lytras of 1896): obverse: Nike with his laurel wreath in front of the Acropolis, reverse, 4 lines in Greek (Olympic games) and in the 1906 cartouche, surrounded by a laurel wreath. Gilded bronze. Diameter: 5cm. Traces of wear.
