A rare set, the ideal way to get a close-up view of the much-talked-about 1924 Games: obverse: crowned athlete, reverse: view of Paris and Notre Dame, where the Games began with a mass celebrated in the presence of Baron de Coubertin on July 5. Mention: VIII Olympiad, Paris, 1924. By Raoul Bénard (1881-1961), a native of Normandy, whom the baron may have known, given his Norman roots. Diameter: 5.5. Weight 72g. Edition 9500 copies.
