Anne Auguste de MONTMORENCY, Comte d'ESTAIRES(1679-1745) Lieutenant-General - Certificate of service signed "MONTMORENCY D'ESTAIRES", PARIS 20 May 1710. Certificat pour le Sieur De BON Capitaine au Régiment de NORMANDIE, qui sert le Roy depuis 17 ans. "He has been in this war at the Affairs of CHIARRI, LUSSARA and all those in which the Regiment has been in ITALY. He also voluntarily served as Engineer at the Sieges of VERCEIL, YVRES, BARD, VERRUE, LA MIRANDOLE, CHIVAS and TURIN with all possible distinction and the approval of all the General Officers. He received seven to eight wounds, of which he remains absolutely crippled, mainly from a cannon shot to the left arm at the siege of TURIN. He has taken every care to have a good troop and has led a blameless life." Done in PARIS on May 20, 1710 - 1p- in-4°.
