MARITIME TRADE. RIVET Fils ainé, MARSEILLE (13). 19th century commercial archive. Over 200 letters, drafts and receipts from 1836 to 1852, concerning the company "RIVET Fils ainé, à MARSEILLE". MR RIVET fils is a merchant and shipowner, and a member of the Marseille Chamber of Commerce. He imports copper, saltpetre, leather and cotton from Chile (via Valparaiso), Peru and Turkey (Constantinople). Correspondence with Philippe RIVET, at Château de SABATIER, near QUISSAC (Gard). Commercial relations, then liquidation of the company "Mr RIVET Fils ainé à Marseille" in 1845/1846. Arrivals of the copper-bearing ship "L'Amiral Pléville" from Valparaiso, the ship "le Rhône" from Lima, the Panama liner, etc...
