SAINT-DOMINGUE / "Vœu patriotique d'un américain sur le prochaine Assemblée des Etats-Généraux", printed 15 p in-8, anonymous, no place or date, last page bears postmarks of a franking to Monsieur Bruix at Château de Livry: this is the cahier de doléances of the Comité colonial de Saint-Domingue, written in August 1788 by Jacques-Vincent Delacroix (1743-1832, lawyer), he protests that the colonies have no representatives, "it is still time to send to the colonies the order to proceed with regular elections of Deputies for the next Assembly", "L'ile de Saint-Domingue, Martinique and Guadeloupe could, in any case, suffice to represent the colonies", "Saint-Domingue is occupied by landowners who, from the fruits of their exploitation, sustain the industry of the townspeople and feed the slaves who work in the countryside", "There, a noble equality reigns among those who have their estates cultivated. There are none of the three orders that divide citizens in France", etc.
