GERMANY - WORMS - Dr. Johann Friedrich EICH (1812-1879, German politician, personality of the town of Worms, Member of the Hessian Parliament, Worms owes its development to the construction of the bridge over the Rhine and the establishment of the railroad, theologian, he was behind the Luther monument in Worms) / Very important correspondence of 62 autograph letters signed, total 230 p in-8, from 1844 to 1860, to Comte Louis de Cambacérès (1832-1868, grand-nephew by marriage of Napoleon 1st), affectionate missives in German, Eich was in England when they began, living at Kingsgate with Captain Digby, young Louis was 12 years old (perhaps Eich had been his tutor for some time before taking up his professorship at Worms after his doctorate), the correspondence is faithful from year to year, Eich sends several documents as appendices (articles from the "Wormser Zeitung", of which he was editor, publications on the Luther monument etc.).This long friendship ensures a chronicle of Worms over more than 15 years.
