DAIX André - Lot 19
DAIX André
Professor Nimbus
Exceptional collection devoted to André Daix, the designer of Professor Nimbus. He was one of the pioneers of animated cartoons in Europe, making short films between 1929 and 1933 (Zut Détective).
Professor Nimbus, created in 1934, was published in newspapers and in albums distributed by Hachette. It was one of the few comics of the period to be published in the American press.
Our set was drawn between 1935 and 1937, and includes strip gags, political illustrations and cartoons - over a hundred pre-war drawings from a period in comics when the originals were little or not at all preserved.
Booklet 1: January 1937 dedication featuring Nimbus at the opening of the booklet, composed of 36 strips of Professor Nimbus in 2 or 4 panels. The strips are dated from January to July 1937.
