NATURAL HISTORY Fossil of Mosasaurus sp probably conybeari or conodon or hoffmani Mosasaurs evolved from large reptiles with long bodies, relatively short fins and long tails. These predatory monsters of the Dinosaur Era preyed on any prey passing within their reach in the open sea. Their diet was essentially piscivorous, with a jaw equipped with sharp teeth and a movable joint in its lower part, enabling the animal to easily eat large chunks of meat.
