Ethnic groups of French Indochina. Album of one hundred phototype plates with China background, introduced by Louis MALLERET (1901-1970) with a color ethnographic map by Georges TABOULET (1888-1979), depicts the various ethnic groups of Indochina in their traditional headdresses, costumes and customs. Published by the Société des Etudes Indpchinoises, Saigon, 1937. Total edition of 500 copies, ours bearing N°165 is one of 180 deluxe copies. Original cardboard box with flaps, lined with brocaded silk cut from a Cambodian sampot. In good condition. Paper slightly yellowed. Damage to cardboard.
