Large, monumental statue of a man supported by a pillar and dressed in a loincloth. White limestone. Height : 200 cm Width: 70 cm Maya culture, ca. 750-1100 A.D. Mexico. Broken-glued and restorations of use, otherwise good conservation. Provenance : Galerie Hélène Leloup, invoice dated March 2, 1970 Hernando Vines Collection, Paris. Marco Aurélio Soto Collection Exhibition: The head was exhibited at the Pavillon de Marsan, Paris, in 1928. Publication: The head was published in "Les arts anciens de l'Amérique", exhibition organized at the Musée des arts décoratifs, Palais du Louvre, Pavillon de Marsan, May-June 1928.
