Athletics/ Olympic Games, summer, 1912/ Bouin - Lot 11
Athletics/ Olympic Games, summer, 1912/ Bouin Five press photos on or around Jean-Bouin (1888-1914). The first great French runner was from Marseilles, and Olympic vice-champion in the 5000m in 1912. Here, we have a superb portrait in a CASG de Paris jersey (16.5x11); another original photo of him, carried in triumph by two American athletes (13x18, perhaps Reims in 1912?); an astonishing reprint after a Racing race (?), he looks lost, wearing a military capote (19x24.5); an original press photo of Racing aviator-rugbyman Pelletier d'Oisy (1892-1953) laying a wreath in front of his statue by Constant Roux in Marseille (photo Llorca) (11x15) b) A photo of Lucien Duquesne, winner of the 1923 Prix Jean-Bouin at Pershing (13x18). A moving set.
