This 1927 Tour de France, Luxembourg's Nicolas Frantz (1899-1985), of the Alcyon team, dominated it by winning 3 stages, and relegating his runner-up in Paris, Maurice Dewaele, to almost 2 hours. Also taking part in the race was André Leducq (1904-1980), a friend from the Thomann subsidiary. Leducq also won 3 stages, finishing fourth and first in France. He was also Nick's first "team-mate", which earned him the beautiful scarf offered by the winner's compatriots. Not only are they virtually on the same team, but they shared the stages.
