Cycling/ La Rafale/ Michard - Lot 57
Cycling/ La Rafale/ Michard Spectacular original decorative poster from the 1930s: "Cycles La Rafale". Interlining. This glorious brand of the 1920s-60s is best known for a great champion of the 1920s, sprinter and world and Olympic champion Lucien Michard. That's why this Studio Rober creation is so interesting. The Rafale can also happily take on the open road, the Tour, and get out of the velodromes, this verdant poster seems to tell us, in the spirit of the times. Its ambassador on the track was the sprinter Lucien Michard (1903-1985), with a record of achievements as long as one's arm, and on the road, Fayolle had also ridden the blue cycles, but not without controversy. Close to Paris-France, to Handsonne, close to the Roanne Arsenal (1940s), this label, whose contrasting history is yet to be written, seemed to disappear in the early 60s. At one point, like many bicycle brands, it was based in the 11th arrondissement of Paris. Lithograph. 160 x 117 cm. Image never seen. Some minor repairs. GOOD CONDITION.
