Cycling/ Dunlop/ Delarue-Nouvellière/ Montluçon - Lot 60
Cycling/ Dunlop/ Delarue-Nouvellière/ Montluçon Original canvas poster signed by the brilliant Pierre Delarue-Nouvellière (1889-1973) for "Le Premier Pas Dunlop". From 1923 to 1982, the "Premier Pas Dunlop", created by Dunlop France (head office in Montluçon) and Mr. Peytavy, was the major test for youngsters. Among those to emerge were Geminiani, Lemétayer, Trentin, Martinez, Hinault, Bourreau and Barteau. Here, the little red devils had a great opportunity to get out of their box. Nothing could stop this flamboyant peloton of fifteen riders, who could care less about the weather. PDN may have been Dunlop's inspired designer, but his considerable body of work goes far beyond that. Lithograph. 1923. 80 x 60 cm. TBE
