TBE A testimony to the rise of cycling in the early belle époque, to its fashion, and to its widespread popularization, including and especially in the big spa towns. Bicycling was taught by instructors, similar to lifeguards, with a certain military flair. There were around thirty rides in Paris, and just as many in the provinces, particularly in pilot towns like Vichy.
