Olympic Games/ Summer, 1948/ London Gaston Reiff (1921-1992) The complete saga of Olympic champion Gaston Reiff in the press (6 titles) and in pictures (8 press photographs, including 4 originals, and 4 reprints, one with the Olympic 5000 champion's signature). a) Six major Belgian publications (dailies or mags) hailed the exploit on their front pages: "Victoire Belge aux JO" ("Belgian victory at the Olympics"). Three issues of "Sports" 3-4-9 August 1948, "La Belgique Sports" 3/8, and "Sport et Club" in civilian clothes, with spikes around the neck; b) 4 original photographs, wide shot of the finish (11.5 x 15 cm, was going to overtake the 2nd Belgian), scoreboard with Gaston between Erikson and Zato (13 x 17.5 cm), race in the rain, Zato leads ahead of Reiff (17,5 x 23.5 cm), superb, the finish, exhausted, dirty but winner with a new record (15 x 20.5 cm), four prints, including one in color, an image with beautiful signature and detail on the victory (11.5 x 11 cm). A set on one of the few champions to have beaten Zatopek. Attached is the medal of the city of Brussels, with Saint-Michel in arms on the reverse, to Gaston Reiff, 1948 Olympic champion, signed DB. 5 x 3 cm. In its case. With original cartoon. India ink depicting Gaston Reiff winning in extremis over Zatopek in the 5000. As well as two original, official programs for the 5000 qualifications and the final: 31/7, purple, 2/8 red.
