This torch, one of the 1,500 sent from Marseille to Paris after completing its Tour de France and enchanting nearly 11,000 torchbearers, tells some wonderful stories. Its steel sings, its graphics speak of equality, water and appeasement like a totem pole. It's signed by designer Mathieu Lehanneur, whose name is a Canadian trapper, or even better, a scout. And that was exactly his mission.
