Maurice DENIS (1870-1943) Preparatory model study for the figure of Psyché, 1908. Oil on canvas mounted on cardboard. 50 x 40 cm. Study for the first panel of a cycle commissioned from the artist by Ivan Morozov in 1908 around the theme of Eros and Psyche, to decorate the music room of his private mansion in Moscow (Russia). This panel is currently in the collections of the Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg. Wood frame. Provenance: former collection of Pauline and Jean-Luc Dejean, then by descent.
