NASA. Superb view of the Earth taken by the members of the APOLLO 13 mission as they head for their unexpected destination. The astronauts were unable to land on the moon following an incident, and were able to return to Earth after a perilous journey around the Moon, from which they almost didn't make it back. This incident was followed by the whole world, concerned about the fate of the astronauts. A large storm can be seen over the northern Pacific Ocean and southern Alaska. 1970. Vintage chromogenic print (slightly later +/- 1975) on paper: "KODAK". Logo and numbering in the margin on the front. Logo and typed caption on back. 25.2 x 20.3CM with margins.
