NASA. An extraordinary historical view of the MAGELLAN Space Probe deployed in Space from the payload bay of the space shuttle ATLANTIS (MISSION STS-30R) on May 4, 1989. The MAGELLAN space probe is attached to its booster rocket, which will take it to the planet Venus on October 10, 1990. It produced the first historic images in the form of radar photographs, as the planet Venus is permanently covered in clouds. By May 1991, the MAGELLAN spacecraft will have mapped 75% of Venus' surface. Vintage chromogenic print on paper: "THIS PAPER MANUFACTURED BY KODAK".
