Governor of Provence in 1712: Letter signed "VILLARS, Au Comte d'APCHIER, à AIX (13) le 23 Mars 1716. 1p in-4°: "Je reçois en arrivant dans cette ville, Monsieur, la lettre que vous m'écrivîtes du 18. I am very grateful for your willingness to follow me to these countries. I would be very upset if you took the trouble and I beg you to excuse me, and to always believe me, Sir, more yours than anyone else in the world."
