You have done the good deed of mending fences between Mr De ROUCY and Mr De VENDY, and I am writing to the former to urge him to behave himself. I approve of everything you have done and nothing will be changed except by you. I am quite sure that you would do even better with a detachment of 4,000 men that you would lead..."
