The law consists of twelve titles, (Arbitrators, Judges in general, Justices of the Peace, Judges of First Instance, Judges of Appeal, Form of elections, Installation of judges, Public Prosecutor's Office, Clerks of the Court, Offices of the Peace and Family Courts, Judges in police matters, Judges in commercial matters). Printed in RENNES (35) by J. Robiquet, imprimeur du Département de l'Ille-et-Vilaine, Rue Royale, 1790; 32 pages in-4°. Signed copy in the hand of "M.J. AUFFRAY Curé de CHÂTEAUGIRON, lu au prône de notre Messe paroissiale le 10 Octobre 1790." The law of August 16 and 24, 1790. This was the first major law on justice passed by the Constituent Assembly. It is still known today as the foundation of the dual system of jurisdiction.
