Superb text about Étienne Clary, candidate for the Senate (1803); the Pope; Cardinal Fesch, Madame Mère and Pauline Bonaparte, who "are at the waters of Aix en Savoye"; and the Emperor's return to Paris on December 19, 1812. 2 Letters A.S. from another Isoard to his family are enclosed - Letter of August 31 (1803) "I wrote to you yesterday, my dear friend, and today I am writing to you again to ask you to invite those of the electors of Aix whom you may know to give their vote to Monsieur Étienne CLARY of Marseille, Legislator, to be presented as Candidate for the Senate. Clary is our close friend, thinking perfectly well, Joseph BONAPARTE's brother-in-law, who wrote to the Prefect in Marseille and to Citizen BARTHÉLÉMY President, so you see it's the family's wish.
