"DIDIER, leader of the seditious movement that has just taken place in some communes of the Isère department, and of the one that some malicious people, as foolish as they are guilty, had tried to organize in LYON, last January, has just been arrested in St-Jean-de-Maurienne, by the Royal Carabinieri of Savoy. The Piedmontese General has had him taken to Turin for questioning. The arrest of this daring leader has cut off the source of all the recent plots against public tranquillity. It leaves no other resource for misguided men, than in a frank and complete submission to the KING whose goodness and wisdom they have so long disregarded." Cupboard (52 x 41 cm) Condition B+.
