Charles PERCIER, Architect and Decorator (Paris 1764-1838). He was commissioned by the First Consul to design the Château de LA MALMAISON (92). From then on, he enjoyed Bonaparte's protection, and played a major role in the architectural works carried out under the Empire: Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel, numerous works at the Tuileries and the Louvre. Autograph letter signed "Charles Percier", June 26, 1835, addressed to Mr de BOUVATIER. 1p in-4°. At the request of his colleague Mr. HERSANT, "one of the most skilful painters", he wishes to intervene on behalf of the young TRANCHAND, whose mother is applying for a half-scholarship to the Rollin College.
