HARAS. Raymond Daniel D'EURVILLE Marquis De GRANGUES (1803-1876) Breeder and hippologist, died at age 78 at Château des Grangues, near Dives (Calvados). Fine letter signed to His Highness, Monseigneur le Prince Président (future Napoléon III), Paris June 12, 1852, 1 page 1/2 pages in-4°: "Monseigneur. Rallied to your cause on December 10, 1848... General Ordener, who was in command in Normandy, was able to appreciate the services rendered by me, and would, if necessary, point them out to Your Highness. I therefore dare to ask him to kindly employ these services actively... What I aspire to and solicit from the kindness of your Highness is the title of his Squire..."
