"My Dear Blanche, I arrived yesterday in Chambéry very well and I'm leaving at 9 a.m. ... to be in Turin on Thursday. I saw here in passing the General de BISCARETTI, husband of the Countess de BISCARETTI, who was present at our marriage contract. He's governor of Savoy and a good friend of mine. He spoke very highly of you, telling me how charming his wife found you.... He lives in that old château in Chambéry that you know and near which your car poured... I can't wait to finish my trip and be back with you soon. ... All I can think about is how happy I'll be to be back at Le Breuil (Abbaye du Breuil-Benoit in the Eure) ...
