I am very honored by the proposal you have kindly made to me for the upcoming GARD Senatorial Elections. I thank you for this high mark of esteem. However, before replying, I had to think about the situation in this Department. I don't believe that the odds are in favor of a list of candidates like the one you are kindly proposing to include me on... Having just come out of an electoral struggle, and with a great deal of work in progress, I don't want to start a campaign all over again...which would offer little chance of success...".
