Gaston DOUMERGUE, President of the Senate, then President of the Republic from 1924 to 1931 (Aigues-Vives/ Gard 1863 - 1937) - Autograph letter signed on SÉNAT letterhead, February 8, 1923. 4 pages in-8°: "Mon Cher Ami. Your father and other friends had warned me. SARRANT being absent, I was only able to see him yesterday. He seems very determined to send MERLIN to INDOCHINA. Which is a mistake, and better still a fault...". He speaks of two possible vacations in A.O.F. and MADAGASCAR. Includes a postcard and a Félix Potin photo of his portrait.
