Officer's sword, Second Empire. Chased and gilded bronze mounting. Medallion pommel topped by a button. Round joint arch with plant scrolls and a string of pearls in the center. Body knot with cartouche from which the decorated quillon follows the jointing arch. Openwork keyboard with lictor beam on a background of six pennants. Wooden spindle covered with mother-of-pearl plates. Straight blade with triangular cross-section. Leather scabbard with two brass fittings. Missing bolt. France, Second Empire period.
