Nasa. GEMINI-TITAN 4 mission. Astronaut ED WHITE performs his spectacular spacewalk during the third revolution above the globe. The astronaut is attached to the Gemini capsule by an umbilical cord less than 10 meters long. ED WHITE became the first American to step out into Space from Earth orbit. He remained outside the capsule for 21 minutes. He held in his hands a propulsion system to move around Gemini. Astronaut James A. McDivitt remained inside the capsule to carry out scientific experiments during ED WHITE's flight. June 3, 1965. Vintage silver print, numbered on front.
