Inside the space shuttle's payload bay is the ATMOSPHERICE LABORATORY FOR APPLICATIONS AND SCIENCE (ATLAS-1), while on the left in the center of the payload bay are the cylindrical boxes containing the "SHUTTLE SOLAR BACKSCATTER ULTRAVIOLET SPECTROMETER" (SSBUV). The three black spheres are part of the "SPACE EXPERIMENTS WITH PARTICLE ACCELERATOR PACKAGE". Finally, in the center is the "MILLIMETER WAVE ATMOSPHERIC SOUNDER (MAS)" antenna.
