NASA. A superb and perfect view of the payload bay of space shuttle COLUMBIA (Mission STS-62). The "DETEROUS END EFFECTOR (DEE)" on the REMOTE MANIPULATOR SYSTEM (RMS) arm can be seen inside. During the 14-day mission, three of the five STS-62 crew members experimented with the capabilities of the RMS in one-hour assignments. The objective was to align the manipulator arm with the target, grab a space probe and couple the probe to the arm. March 1994. Vintage chromogenic print on paper: "KODAK Professional".
