NASA. PLANET JUPITER. This infrared view of Jupiter was crea - Lot 284
NASA. PLANET JUPITER. This infrared view of Jupiter was created from data captured on January 11, 2017 with the Near-InfraRed Imager (NIRI) instrument at Gemini North in Hawaii. It is in fact a mosaic of individual images that have been combined to produce a global portrait of the planet. In the image, hot zones appear bright, including four large hotspots that appear in a row just north of the equator. South of the equator, the oval-shaped, cloud-covered Great Red Spot appears dark. The planet's hot spots appear bright in infrared, providing valuable information about Jupiter's atmospheric structure and internal dynamics. 2010. Vintage chromogenic print. Legend on back on label. 25.4 x 20.4CM with margins.
