NASA. DEEP SPACE. LARGE FORMAT. A superb photograph of the iconic group of galaxies nicknamed Stephan's Quintet. Spectacularly present are 5 galaxies, 4 of which interact (the galaxy on the left is actually much closer to us than the rest of the group). (The galaxy on the left is actually much closer to us than the rest of the group!) These colliding galaxies are pulling and stretching each other in a gravitational dance. This Webb telescope photograph is composed of near- and mid-infrared data covering an area of sky equivalent to 1/5 the diameter of the Moon (as seen from Earth). It contains over 150 million pixels and is built up from around 1,000 image files. Vintage chromogenic print. Numbering in the margin on the front. Legend on label on back. 60.9 x 60.9CM with margins.
