IRANIAN SCHOOL / QAJAR Khosrow discovering Chirine in the bath. Watercolor, ink and gold on paper. In a frame and under glass. Dimensions (sheet in view): 15.2 x 12.3 cm. Iran, Kadjar period, circa 1820. Based on the poem by Nizami (12th century) recounting the love story of the Persian king Khosrow II and the Armenian princess Chirine.
