Cultures of Mexico - COLIMA Group of five jugglers and musicians. Red terra cotta. Height of tallest: 24.5 cm Height of the other 4: 14 cm / 9 cm / 13 cm / 9 cm Colima culture, ca. 200 BC - 300 AD. J.C. (except for the large figure, which is modern rather than period) Mexico. A few chips, but very well preserved. Provenance : Private collection, Geneva (acquired late 70s-early 80s) Private collection, Vaduz (acquired 2006) This group of figures is typical of Western Mexican culture. They represent scenes from village life. They must certainly have been surrounded by other figures, such as women with their children, or figures lying on their beds. As this lot is a temporary import (from outside the EU), import VAT of 5.5% must be added to the hammer price for sale in France.
