Cultures of South America - CHANCAY Stylized anthropomorphic figure standing, arms raised and hands open in a gesture of prayer or incantation. Ceramic with beige slip and red paint. Height: 29.5 cm Width: 20.5 cm Thickness: 8 cm Chancay culture, ca. 1100-1400 A.D. Peru. The neck is broken and glued. Small chips otherwise well preserved. Number 1066 written on back. Provenance: Private collection, Geneva (acquired late 70s-early 80s) Private collection, Vaduz (acquired 2006) Lot temporarily imported (from a non-EU country), VAT of 5.5% must be added to the hammer price for sale in France.
