Cultures of South America - MOCHICA Vase with stirrup handle depicting a human face. Better known as a portrait vase. Here a sick person. He wears a headdress composed of two birds. He is wearing two large earrings. Orange terracotta with beige slip and red paint. Height: 25.2 cm Width: 14 cm Thickness: 16.5 cm Mochica culture, ca. 100-700 A.D. Peru. Surface wear and light chips, otherwise very well preserved. Rare example.
