AISNE. "Article de la Paix de LAON." Copies of the various Paix de LAON, from An 919, 942, 987, followed by an "Article sur la Paix de VERVINS" by King Louis XI. Eighteenth-century manuscript, 10 pages (22 x 16 cm): "l'An 913. King Charles the Simple came to Laon with Haganon, a native of the said city, his Minister of State. The Emperor Henry Loiseleur, who was at war with France, sent his plenipotentiaries to Laon to negotiate a peace, which was solemnly concluded and sworn to in the town of Laon by the deputies and all the bishops and counts of the country... In 942, Hugues Le Grand and Count Hebert signed a truce at Laon through the mediation of the Legate... In 984, Hugues Capet was elected King at Laon...".
