Charles-François LEBRUN, Duc de Plaisance (St-Sauveur-Lendel - Lot 358
Charles-François LEBRUN, Duc de Plaisance (St-Sauveur-Lendelin/ Manche 1739-1824) Publicist and Legislator, Deputy, 3rd Consul of the Republic with BONAPARTE, Prince Archchancellor of the Empire - Beautiful letter about his family. Autograph letter signed with his initials, Paris October 25, 1801: "I thank you, My Dear Reuilley, for everything you tell me about my daughter (Sophie Eugènie) and my son-in-law (Adrien Godard d'Aucour). Mother and daughter promise wonder. In the midst of our Glory I have no regrets to form. Charles (her son) has "distinguished himself" at the head of his Regiment. Alexandre (his son) did his best for Marshal Prince de Ponte-Corvo (Bernadotte). Auguste (his son) enlisted under Marshal Comte de Neufchâtel (Berthier) and under the Emperor (Napoleon 1er). On the other hand, you are faithful to your duty and courageously carry out your job as sous-préfet. Believe that this is the only way to arrive in a solid manner and to have that reputation which is worth more than the successes of promotion. It will be a pleasure to see you again... I send you my love." 1 page in-4°
