BAUDE (Jean Jacques) Député de la DRÔME, Préfet de Police. (Valence 1792 - Paris 1862) - Autograph letter signed in Paris on June 26, 1818. Friendly and political letter to Mr. Louis Michel RIGAULT DE LISLE (Correspondent of the Royal Academy of Sciences, Agronomist, Senator of the Drôme in 1815), at his land of L'ISLE near CREST (Drôme). 3 pages in-4°: "... M. de Dampierre has given me 6 printed copies of the petition and the manuscript of your reflections. I will send you all this with what you need for your school....""Your reflections on the loan and credit system and on the land registry are perfectly correct"..."... The friends of order and Liberty need to get together and get along; these links are beginning to form; you know that my whole ambition is to put a ring around them...." "We're already busy with elections, there's cabal on all sides, the Ministry is struggling, but I hope it will lose in voters, part of what it gained by selling our Loan to the English. If you have any relations in the Haute Saône, please recommend Messrs de GRAMMONT and MARTINH de GRAY, the current deputies...". He recommends other candidates for election.
