Luigi CHERUBINI, Italian composer, Superintendant de la Musi - Lot 481
Luigi CHERUBINI, Italian composer, Superintendant de la Musique du Roi Louis XVIII. (Florence 1760 - Paris 1842)- Autograph letter signed Luigi CHERIBINI, from PARIS, August 17, 1828. 2 pages in-4°: "Mr. Intendant général.Monsieur Dhenneville, whom I saw this morning, before receiving the letter you did me the honor of addressing to me, had already informed me of its contents. I told him the reasons which led me to maintain my first distribution, i.e. those which I have the honor of submitting to you, especially with regard to the reciters, and I asked him to communicate them to you. All I can add in this letter is that I will be delighted to have Mademoiselle Lecler sing the two pieces I have designated for her, and that orders have already been given for them to be brought to her, since Mademoiselle Gide also sings in two pieces. Moreover, the length of the orchestra is too small for an additional recitalist to be placed in the front row. However, Monsieur l'Intendant général, if you absolutely insist that I carry out the observation you made, please let me know your subsequent decision..."
