DEPARTURE OF KING CHARLES X, CHERBOURG. (MANCHE). Placard ma - Lot 484
DEPARTURE OF KING CHARLES X, CHERBOURG. (MANCHE). Placard made ST-LO on August 18, 1830. Order of the day signed by Maréchal Marquis MAISON, De SHONEN and ODILON-BARROT. "MM. Les Commissaires délégués pour accompagner le Roi Charles X et sa famille jusqu'à Cherbourg éprouvent le besoin, au moment où leur mission vient de terminer, de rendre témoignage de la conduite loyale et honorable que MM. Les Gardes-du-Corps ont tenue dans cette grave circonstance. Called upon to fulfill a duty of honor and loyalty, they perfectly reconciled the demands of this duty with the respect due to the established Government. MM. Les Commissaires are pleased to declare that it is to this sense of reserve and propriety that they owe in large part their successful completion of a mission whose outcome was so important to the honor of France." Printed in ST LO, by the Widow GOMONT. (36.5 x 23.5 cm). Condition B
