Libation vase in the shape of an arm with a clenched fist. It forms a right angle. The top of the arm has a flared neck. It is decorated with circular motifs. Cream-white, black and red ceramic. Height: 20 cm Length: 38 cm Mochica culture, ca. 100-700 A.D. Peru. Broken, glued with small chips. Accidental neck. Decorated with circular motifs reminiscent of tie-dye textiles and painted rectangles. Representations of human limbs are relatively uncommon. Their interpretation is the subject of debate, although the ritual aspect seems certain. Provenance: collection of Monsieur P.
