BATOUALA illustrated by Alexandre IACOVLEFF, work by René Maran: this copy must be that of a collaborator, as it has no title page (it does not appear to have been detached), is published by Mornay (watermark), on Rives vellum like the 350 first copies (watermark), and is bound in paperback with the illustrated cover filled in. This is a partly original 1928 edition, with an 8-page preface and 170 pages of text. It is illustrated with some sixty illustrations and headbands by Iacovleff. A very rare work, presented as is, without its hors-texte illustrations (cover nicked and soiled, some foxing inside).
